Our clients’ newly formed UK Acoustics group have two excellent opportunities at Senior & Principal level based at their offices in Glasgow.

The work will involve undertaking acoustic assessments, review and advise on architectural structural designs in regard to acoustics for residential, education, health, rail, commercial, industrial and leisure developments. You will also produce EIAs for large infrastructure projects (eg. Highways).

You will possess strong demonstrable skills in project management, writing proposals, managing programmes, staff and budgets. Some business development activities (in particular for the Principal post) will also be required.

We are looking for candidates who have Acoustics / Noise experience from a private consultancy background and will be degree qualified in Acoustics or a Science related discipline. Full membership of the IOA is also required.

The workload is focused on Environmental Acoustics, particularly in the energy sector. The team have been involved in a number of high profile projects across thermal and renewable power generation (wind, biomass, wave, tidal). They are also active in other fields such industrial, commercial and transportation sectors, and are looking to strengthen their building acoustics business.

They are seeking to appoint an Acoustician with 6+ years post-graduate experience. Candidates must be degree qualified in a Noise / Engineering discipline. Much of the work involved is of a very technical nature and requires a good understanding of physics / engineering processes, in addition to environmental aspects.

The team often work on overseas projects, and are always keen to hear from candidates interested in this aspect of the job.

Our client, a multi-disciplinary Engineering & Environmental consultancy, are looking for a talented individual to join them at their city centre offices in Birmingham

They are seeking an individual with a minimum of 8 years consultancy experience in noise and vibration assessment for both industrial and infrastructure projects. You will have a relevant degree and are likely to be a Member of the Institute of Acoustics. You should have experience of managing technical contributions to Environmental Impact Assessments and Pollution Prevention and Control permit applications, and should also be able to demonstrate experience of managing projects and direct liasion with clients. 

With drive, enthusiasm and excellent communication skills, you will be responsible for building and operating a core team of Acoustic professionals and for liasing with other noise and vibration specialists within the business. You should be committed to technical excellence in order to ensure that the quality of output from the team meets the demanding standards expected.

You will be expected to form long term relationships with key clients by understanding their requirements, preparing proposals, managing client expectations and, consequently, driving growth for the Acoustics discipline. Based within the Environmental business unit, internal relationships within the wider company network will also also be important and you will be expected to effectively promote Acoustic services within their Engineering disciplines such as highways, light rail, airports, and energy.

This key role needs you to provide excellent technical capability and for you to personally deliver high quality technical solutions for clients. In addition to practical monitoring and modelling work, you will also be expected to manage junior staff and will be responsible for the overall technical delivery of the Acoustics team in Birmingham.
