Our client is searching for an experienced and qualified fire risk assessor to be based at their offices in Lancashire.

They are looking for a professional - who wishes to continue to use their skills and expertise on either a full or part–time basis - to help deliver a fire risk assessment programme to assist compliance with fire safety legislation and develop appropriate fire protection strategies which are specific to their clients based on individual risks.

Responsibilities:

• To report to the Principal Fire Risk Engineer
• Communicate with building managers and the immediate staff (where necessary) for purpose of compiling the assessment and to communicate the significant findings
• Liaison with Fire and Rescue Authority acting on behalf of clients.
• To effectively carry out fire risk assessments in line with the Regulatory Reform Order
• Work towards programme delivery
• To have a complete understanding of the Reform Order and how to interpret this into site/field surveys
• To be able to work under own initiative
• Looking to develop the products we deliver, using innovation and efficiency driven methods
• Work co-operatively across and within other business functions and business units to share information and ideas/findings with other teams carrying out similar exercises

Essential candidate criteria:

• Relevant accreditation exhibiting recent training in the undertaking of Fire Risk Assessments (eg. BRE, IFE)
• Complete understanding of the RRO
• The ability to interpret existing FRA’s (operational) and integrate these into a ‘complete’ document satisfying the new legislation
• Understanding of various building fabric and construction methods.
• Experience in relevant technical environment
• Experience of working with clients in both the public and private sector.
• Ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure
• Understanding of associated Legislation relevant to fire i.e. DSEAR.
• An eye for detail and delivery of Quality reports
• Ability to communicate with people in a professional, friendly and courteous manner
• Enthusiastic and confident approach to work
• Current Driving Licence
